Lane Spigner, Longwave Financial

Watch video statement:

The opportunity to help influence system-level change that makes sustainable, values-aligned business the norm rather than the exception is a professional and personal priority. I am excited to be considered for the Board of the Green Business Network.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and Director of Sustainability at Longwave Financial, I advise individuals, families, and closely held businesses on aligning capital with environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and long-term economic resilience. This includes advising on investment strategies, evaluating environmental and social risks and opportunities, and helping clients integrate sustainability goals into decision-making. I have advised on philanthropic and mission-aligned structures—such as donor-advised funds and values-driven investment policies—that reinforce sustainable business practices across generations.

In addition to my professional work, I have volunteered as a mentor to LGBTQ youth through the Ali Forney Center, supporting young people who have experienced housing instability as they build skills, confidence, and long-term pathways to stability and opportunity. This experience grounded my commitment to equity, dignity, and practical impact in communities most in need.

I bring experience and passion for translating sustainability principles into practical, market-ready decisions. I am particularly drawn to the Green Business Network’s role in setting credible standards, supporting responsible entrepreneurs, and amplifying businesses that demonstrate leadership and outcomes rather than performative commitment.

I would bring to the Board a collaborative mindset, strong financial and governance expertise, and a deep belief that well-designed economic systems can be powerful drivers of environmental health, equity, and shared prosperity.
