Baseline Standards
- Any business with major use of paper (publisher, cards) must use 50% or more recycled paper (10% PCW) with remainder FSC certified OR non-tree paper (dung, hemp)
- If copy business, the standard paper used must be 100% PCW and all standard papers must contain no virgin content and/or be FSC certified
- For others, 100% recycled (minimum 20% post-consumer content)
- Processed chlorine-free (PCF)
- Use of website as educational tool.
- Clear commitments/principles to greenness on website
- Tissues and toilet paper are unbleached and recycled
Preferences
- Contains more than 20% post-consumer content
- Made from hemp or kenaf
- Totally Chlorine-free (TCF)
- Involved in or moving towards electronic publishing
- Has paper stewardship policy and made public on website with explanation as to why
