Business Voices Needed to Support the Safe Cosmetics Act

Your green business voice is needed to support the Safe Cosmetics and Personal Care Products Act, designed to protect human health by kicking toxic chemicals out of personal and updating chemical regulations.

Green America is working with the American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC) and the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics to promote the Safe Cosmetics & Personal Care Act of 2013 (H.R. 1385). We know that oversight of the cosmetics industry is outdated and poses dangers to human and environmental health. Read a FAQ about the issues.

According to the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, “it's up to Congress to close gaping holes in the outdated federal law that allows cancer-causing chemicals in baby shampoo, hormone disruptors in fragrance and lead in lipstick. That's what you get when you have a $50 billion industry that's practically self-regulated.”

Business leader signers are now needed on a letter to legislators in support of the Safe Cosmetics & Personal Care Act of 2013. Take action today!
