'Practice What You Print' Targets National Geographic

Green America’s Better Paper Project has launched a campaign to encourage National Geographic to become an environmental leader by printing on recycled paper and improving conditions with their paper mill.

According to Project Director Frank Locantore, “Despite the magazine’s environmental mission, their printing practices require cutting down over 2,000 trees per issue, and their paper mill is polluting the Androscoggin River in Maine---the river that inspired the Clean Water Act---with 40 million gallons of toxic wastewater.”
