Membership Services Assistant
Mark works with Green America members (businesses and individuals) to answer questions about membership, certification and renewal. He is passionate about environmental justice – particularly issues surrounding climate change and clean energy technology. Mark has worked with a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to reversing the legacy of anthracite coal mining in a small watershed community, in part, by securing funding to reclaim abandoned mine lands. More recently, he has volunteered with his local Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal Campaign to work to shut down remaining coal-fired power plants and to push for local governments to enact bold resolutions which demand 100% clean (carbon-neutral) energy targets by 2030.
Abigail manages Green America’s Green Business Certification, helping clients through the certification process and improving standards. In addition to her job at Green America, she works with environmental funders to support and provide grants to organizations addressing the causes of climate change. Abi established an ecotourism business taking travelers to eco-friend destinations in Latin America and beyond, and worked as an ecotourism consultant to improve sustainable travel standards and ensure benefits to local communities and the environment. She has a M.S. in plant ecology from the Duke School of the Environment.
